In the area: This hotel is located just off the Mighty Mackinac Bridge in the beautiful town of St. Ignace, Michigan, on the shores of two of the Great Lakes, Michigan and Huron. Its location is convenient for all your needs; grocery stores, shopping, library, the beach and parks are all within walking distance. You can easily visit all the attractions, museums, towns, shops, ferry boats, casinos, sports events, restaurants and Mackinac Island. Mackinac Island is an island and resort area, covering 3.8 square miles in land area, in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located in Lake Huron, at the eastern end of the Straits of Mackinac, between the state's Upper and Lower Peninsulas. Mackinac Island is unique because there are no cars allowed, just bikes and horses; it feels like you went back in time. St. Ignace has many summer events to keep you busy. In June, 20,000 people come for one of the biggest car shows in Michigan. Hot rods cruise the town for three days. July and August are filled with mud runs, jet ski races, fireworks festivals, and in September, 40,000 people visit the area to walk across the Mackinac Bridge, the only time allowed each year.
