Position description: Servers are responsible for waiting on customers, answering questions, writing down lunch and dinner orders, serving food and drinks, refilling water, dealing with U.S. currency, and setting and clearing tables.
Additional Description: The server position requires providing food and beverage service to the membership. You must be able to carry and balance a tray. Exceptional English and knowledge of food and beverage are required, A professional and friendly appearance and demeanor are also required.
In the area: The Club has sponsored various activities throughout the year for the staff, including a mid-Summer Dinner Dance, rips to a nearby Water Park, professional baseball games and a holiday party. The Club has two locations. The Main Club is located in the town of Locust Valley, a quiet suburban area. The Club is within walking distance to the town and train station. A visit to Manhattan is only one hour away by train. Other cities, such as Boston and Washington DC are accessible as well. The Beach Club, our other location, is located on the Long Island Sound, 4 miles north of the Main Club, in the Village of Lattingtown. Locust Valley is located in the town of Oyster Bay. Oyster Bay is a hamlet located on the Eastern Shores of Long Island, NY. The Oyster Bay area is best-known as the site of Theodore Roosevelt’s beloved Sagamore Hill Estate, now a National Park, but there are many other attractions as well; The Waterfront Center, Planting Fields Arboretum, Baily's Arboretum, Beekman Beach, Raynham Hall Museum, Art Exhibits, Youngs’ Memorial Cemetery and Theodore Roosevelt Park.
Provided by Host: Assuming New York City will begin opening attractions before the end of the program, NYC has various museums and historical places. In their absence, Parks and beaches are open. The Oyster Bay area is easily reached by bicycle and has Sagamore Hill and other various historic sites.
