Position description: Kitchen Helpers are responsible for washing and re-shelving dishware and glassware, emptying garbage, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down food service tables, cleaning appliances, chopping vegetables, and assisting the cook. The kitchen area at times may have high humidity and temperatures.

Additional Description: The food services department is responsible for the preparation of meals for all guests who dine with us, as well as maintaining cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen areas. Duties include, but are not limited to: Preparation of vegetables, meats, etc. for salad bars and hot food bars Preparation of dining room before meal service periods Cleaning of dining room and kitchen area following meal service periods Washing of all pots, pans, serving items, plates, glasses, and silverware Assist with greeting of guests at dining room during meal hours.

In the area: We are located in the Blue Ridge Mountain area. Hiking trails, waterfalls and lakes to explore in the area. This is a beautiful but very remote area in the countryside. Nature lovers' haven!

Provided by Host: While staff have time off. Staff carpool together to go to downtown Asheville, hiking in the many state forests, biking, contra dancing, kayaking and swimming, baseball game, touring Biltmore House.
