Position description: Counter Helpers are responsible for interacting with and helping customers, preparing food, dealing with money, mopping floors, and making sure your area is clean. You should learn as much as you can about American currency before you arrive, as you will be handling money.
Additional Description: Work at our food service counters on board ferries traveling to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Islands, on beautiful Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA! Make many new friends and meet people from all over the world traveling to the islands. Drug screen required (urine test) to work on board, when you arrive here. Please bring $60.00 cash for this test. It is returned to you at your departure as long as you have passed the test. Uniforms shirts and aprons supplied. Bring tan, cotton pants or knee length shorts and a good pair of sneakers, any color. Please no facial piercings or tongue jewelry, while on duty. 2 small earrings per ear are allowed. Arm and leg tattoos are accepted. Long hair pulled back. Men with facial hair should trim to .5 inches. We have had students with us for over 25 years and most leave with many happy memories! Beautiful beaches, shopping, movie theaters, and New England charm. 1.5 hour bus trip to Boston. Students find many opportunities to explore the Cape & Islands to sightsee and visit Boston and all the great sights there! Fun job!
In the area: Activities in Cape Cod include sightseeing, shopping, dining, hiking, biking, golf, tennis, fishing, camping, and beaches. Cape Cod and the islands are world-renowned vacation areas for celebrities and politicians. They are known for quaint gingerbread houses, cobblestone streets, water sports, and beautiful beaches. It is about 1 1/2 hours to Boston and local bus transportation is good to malls, movie theaters, etc.
Provided by Host: Cape Cod and the Islands are popular vacation spots. Upon arrival, students are given a list of many activities that they can easily visit or take part in during their stay with us. Many activities are local and often employees will get together and take students to many of the local activities and events both on and off of the list. We encourage students to take photos to share with other students and their program.
