Position description: Guests Services are responsible for assisting with guest inquiries, providing help and information as needed. This position can be at a stationary booth or within a hotel, resort or park where you will be expected to accommodate guest requests as needed.
Additional Description: Memorial Events This department is our group sales and events department. Reports To: Memorial Events Manager Scheduling: 6-10 hour shifts; Beginning as early as 7am; Ending as late as 8:30pm Starting Wage: $9.50/hr Every person who works at Dutch Springs is an important part of the splashes and smiles our guests experience every day. DESCRIPTION: Represents Dutch Springs to the guest throughout all stages of guest’s experience. Handles all group sales and event scheduling. Handles space rental requests. Interacts openly and honestly with guests. Must gain knowledge of all aspects of Dutch Springs in order to answer all questions quickly and courteously. Helps provide a relaxed, positive experience for all guests through happy expressions and positive conduct. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Knows how to use computer and Point Of Sale equipment 2. Able to take phone requests for group admission, birthday parties and group events 3. Able to setup event area for themed birthday parties 4. Able to account for the group requests and sales on excel spreadsheets 5. Be able to confirm group events either by phone or email. 6. Be able to deliver food and beverages to groups as they have ordered it. 7. Knows all admission, rental and food prices. 8. Knows all times and dates that Dutch Springs is open 9. Fills out and rents equipment 10. Knows directions to hotels and eating establishments 11. Knows all safety and emergency 911 procedures 12. Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the event areas 13. Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to manager 14. Reports any maintenance needs to the manager 15. Ensures the event spaces are ready for the next shift. 16. Promotes goodwill by being courteous, friendly and helpful to guests, managers and fellow employees 17. Maintains a clean and neat appearance 18. Understands that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts. PREREQUESITES: Age: Must be at least 15 yrs old Experience: None necessary Language: Must be able to speak, read, write & understand English, the primary language used in the workplace Physical: Requires grasping, standing, sitting, hearing, visual acuity and good verbal skills, endurance, being able to work at high heights and heavy lifting. Environment: We have indoor and outdoor retail locations. Being able to work outside under a covered tent for an entire shift preferred. Hours: Hours are usually greater than those shown. May and June are slow months. July and August hours needed to work increase because we are open until 7:45pm each night except Sunday. Positions are scheduled in shifts from 9am to an hour after the closing time. From the middle of August the hours would increase again because our university staff starts going back to school. The last week of August thru until Labor Day the hours would increase again because the high school age staff goes back to school. Hours worked can be 35 to 55 hours per week depending on the week and the weather. Overtime: Since we are a classified as a seasonal business Dutch Springs does not have to pay overtime but we are not limited as to the amount of hours worked. In the past years hours from the middle of August until the end of the contracted time could be 55 to 60 hours per week.

Also there are many social and cultural activities just as museums, summer festivals, restaurants and other group type activities in the Lehigh Valley.
Provided by Host: Dutch Springs provides social events during the season for the staff to participate. This allows them to be introduced to and interact with the staff in other departments. Dutch Springs plans trips to cities near Bethlehem (Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Baltimore and Washington D.C.) These trips are paid for by the student/workers and are scheduled for certain days during the summer.
