Position description: Cashiers are responsible for displaying a professional, pleasant attitude to all customers. Cashiers scan customers selected items for purchase, provide purchase transactions, and ensure proper handling of American currency, debit and credit card purchases. This position requires excellent skills in English. This position will provide the opportunity to work directly with the public and gain skills in American customer service. Students may be expected to work in other areas of the store as directed by management.
Additional Description: Supermarket cashiering will include scanning the customers order, bagging the order, and tendering payment. Other tasks will include stocking the shelves, cleaning, and straightening product on shelves. Hours worked will range from 32 to 40 per week.
In the area: We are located on a major bike trail, water skiing and tubing, ski jumping tours, iron mines tours, visiting Lake Superior, food festivals that highlight each communities specialties, dinners at employees homes, karaoke at the local outdoor food gardens, fishing for some, nature walks, many more.
Provided by Host: Among the many events are we participate in the ATV rally on Memorial weekend, showcase all festivities during the July 4th holiday, we have a unique festival in August which is Loon day that involves crafts, local food booths, Loon calling contests, and it coincides with Iron County Heritage festival week, and our students share housing with students from other countries along with the host family, who is the pastor from one of the churches and involves the students in preparing many of the foods that are common is this area, along with showing students some of the major scenic areas in the northwoods.
